HR 2581: To amend titles XIX and XXI of the Social Security Act to permit States to expand coverage for children between 19 and 25 years of age under Medicaid and under the State child health insurance program (SCHIP). Um… 19-25 year olds are not children. The moment you can vote you are no longer a child and should be treated as a self sufficient individual. If you can vote and join the military you aught to be able to buy a pack of cigarettes and drink alcohol too.

S 311: To amend the Horse Protection Act to prohibit the shipping, transporting, moving, delivering, receiving, possessing, purchasing, selling, or donation of horses and other equines to be slaughtered for human consumption, and for other purposes. My family had horses when I was growing up in Southern New Jersey. I saw people with horses kept in horrible condition. This bill won’t help that. I don’t recall ever having eaten horse… but humans eating horse is far from the real problems with horses in this country.

HR 2594: Safe and Fuel Efficient Driving Act of 2007. To establish a Federal public relations and education campaign to promote responsible and fuel-efficient driving in the United States. Cute… $80,000,000 USD over 4 years to tell people to not waste gas. I suppose that’s not too bad, $80M is ~27M gallons of gas at $3/gallon. Considering we consume 384.7 million gallons/day.

HR 2597: Sanctity of Life Act of 2007. To provide that human life shall be deemed to exist from conception. I suppose it’d be nice to have clear cut definitions as to when something is a ‘person’ but hell… we don’t even have a clear definition of when someone is an independent and personally responsible adult.
